The Pilates Club — Heavyweight Structural Boat Tote
A rigid, free-standing luxury studio tote constructed from 18oz high-density structural canvas, featuring precision 3D raised embroidery and contrast webbed handles.
The Client Brief & Vision
The Pilates Club wanted to provide its VIP studio members with an exclusive, premium tote bag that could effortlessly hold yoga blocks, grip socks, water bottles, and activewear. The non-negotiable requirement: the bag had to stand upright independently on studio floors without collapsing.
The Engineering & Reinforcement
To achieve absolute structural rigidity, Flying Whale utilized an 18oz ultra-dense plain-weave cotton canvas. We engineered a reinforced wide boat bottom (15cm depth) supported by concealed internal structural piping along the base perimeter.
The dual-tone handles were constructed using high-tensile cotton webbing, anchored with heavy-gauge antique brass rivets tested to withstand up to 25kg of downward load.
Dimensional 3D Embroidery
Instead of standard flat embroidery, our technical workshop executed high-density raised 3D embroidery for the cursive club logo. Each stitch was calibrated across multiple needle passes to produce crisp tactile relief against the heavy canvas weave.
